Optical network measurement planning

When designing optical networks, the link budget, fiber type, connectors and splices all contribute to system performance. Insertion loss

Measuring insertion loss is a basic requirement for handover: using a uniform measurement procedure, reference connectors and calibrated instruments we verify attenuation of the entire optical path. The measurement results are documented in a standardized measurement report, which forms the basis for system operation and warranty.

OTDR testing and OTDR trace

OTDR measurements enable detailed mapping of events along segments: lengths, attenuations, event locations and types all appear on the OTDR trace. Our service includes professional evaluation of the data and recommendations for repair or optimization.

Measurement of connector and splice losses

We measure the losses occurring at connectors and the attenuation of fusion splices, and provide advice on optimizing connectors and splices. We provide precise reports of the measured connector and splice loss values, which form the basis for troubleshooting and warranty handover.

Reflection measurement and return loss

Reflection measurement (return loss) is critical when testing passive devices and connectors. We check reflections, identify improperly connected or damaged components, and recommend their replacement or reconnection to ensure system reliability.

Measurement report and certification

The measurement report contains detailed OTDR traces, insertion loss values, measurements of connector and splice losses, and reflection measurement data. Our documentation complies with industrial and telecommunications handover requirements, so you receive a lawful and transparent handover.
