Power supply redundancy SmartERA

Energy supply redundancy

As SmartERA-, we design and implement energy supply redundancy solutions for industrial, commercial and residential building environments to ensure the continuous availability of critical processes and equipment. Our service covers the design of N+1 and 2N systems, establishment of independent power feeds, and implementation of backup cable routes and redundant distribution to achieve a maintainable configuration.

Reliable energy supply solutions

Energy supply redundancy is not just about installing backup equipment: we manage the entire process from on-site surveys through detailed electrical design and system integration to implementation and commissioning. We design N+1 and 2N topologies, recommend independent power feeds, and establish backup cable paths and redundant distribution so the system is maintainable and the risk of downtime is minimized.

Redundant power supply design

Depending on site technical conditions, load profiles and operational requirements, we design the most appropriate level of redundancy. We determine when an N+1 configuration is sufficient and when a full 2N system is justified, and we propose independent feeds, backup cable routes and redundant distribution solutions.

Intelligent load and redundancy management

With intelligent load and redundancy management, we optimize use of available capacity to ensure continuous operation of critical systems. Our systems can dynamically redistribute load among available feeds and cooperate with N+1 or 2N topologies to maximize availability.

Implementation and commissioning

We undertake full implementation of redundant energy supply systems, construction of independent feeds and backup cable routes, and integration of related distribution and protection systems. During commissioning we perform detailed tests, verify failover operation, and hand over the system with a documented maintenance plan.

ENERGY SUPPLY REDUNDANCY SAFELY AND EFFICIENTLY

A reliable redundant system requires a multi-layered approach: a backup generator or UPS alone is not enough; independent feeds, separate cable routes, redundant distribution units and maintainable design are all important. Our aim is to deliver systems that can be maintained during operation, simplify troubleshooting and minimize operational risks.

N+1 system

The N+1 approach provides cost-effective availability: one spare unit is sufficient for critical components, so the system continues to operate in case of failure. In design we consider outage requirements, the possibility of inspections and maintainable configuration.

2N system

The 2N topology provides complete physical duplication of critical elements, delivering higher availability for enterprise and industrial systems. In design we consider independence of power sources, distribution redundancy and switching mechanisms.

Independent power feeds

At corporate and industrial sites we recommend independent feeds to guard against external grid failures. Independent feeds can be combined with N+1 or 2N solutions, increasing system security and enabling rapid isolation of disturbances.

Backup cable routes and infrastructure

Backup cable routes and separate cabling are key elements of redundant systems: they provide fault-tolerant routing along different paths, reducing the risk from physical damage or construction works. We design cable routes so that future expansion and maintenance are simple.

Redundant distribution and maintainable design

We design distribution systems that incorporate redundant paths and secondary distributions while enabling easy maintenance and modular expansion. Our solutions adapt to future developments while complying with relevant standards and industry requirements.

Electrical network, protection and maintenance

Stable and secure operation is based on a correctly sized electrical network and appropriate protection. We check connection capacity, breakers, switching logic and maintainability, and prepare documented operation and maintenance instructions.
